We
offer a full web design service from creating a completely new website
to maintaining an existing site. The process we use for creating
a new website can be split up into various stages as follows:
Stage 1 - Gathering Requirements
This stage involves collecting information about your business and
website requirements. We will identify the key requirements and
key information you want to include on your website and discuss
the options available to you. From this base information we will
provide you with a no obligation estimate of how much the work will
cost. If the estimate is acceptable then a detailed quote will be
prepared,
Stage 2 - Preparing a detailed
Quote
The quote will list in detail all the elements of your site so that
you know exactly what you are getting. This quote will form the
basis of a contract between hcrs design and consultancy and the
client (subject to client acceptance of the quote). We usually request
a deposit of up to 20% of the total price before work commences.
Stage 3 - Design and Build
This stage involves the design of the look and feel of the site
and includes the following elements:
- Design of site layout
- Design of navigation
- Hyperlink rollover effects
- Custom built graphics for buttons, background and themes
- Digitising and/or inclusion of company logo
- Design of page layouts and incorporation of text and graphics
We will design and build the front page window
into your site, your home page. Then any further pages will be added,
keeping a consistent look and feel throughout the site.
Stage 4 - Get a Domain
Name
If required, we will supply as part of the full web design service
a yourcompanyname.co.uk domain name which will be registered
for 2 years. If you require other domain names then hcrs design
and consultancy will register the domain for you for at cost price.
The cost of domain name registration changes regularly so we will
advise at the time of quotation the current costs for your chosen
domain name. Note that we can only supply domain names that are
not currently registered to another individual or company.
Stage 5 - Publishing the
Site
Once the website is designed and built and the client is satisfied
with the result the site will be published to the World Wide Web.
We can host your site on our servers and provide e-mail services,
see the hosting section for more details.
Alternatively, we can publish to your existing hosting service and
a small charge may be made for this if any integration work is required.
Please be aware that if you opt for a database driven site that
produces web pages dynamically, then your existing hosting company
may not provide the hosting solution a dynamic site requires. We
will discuss the options with you during the quotation process.
Stage 6 - Registering With
Search Engines
Included as part of the cost we will generate 'meta tag' data within
your site. This tag data basically informs the search engines about
your site. Your site will be submitted using automated tools to
over 2000 search engines across the world. If required we can submit
to the most popular and/or relevant search engines for your business.
Note that some of the major search engines require payment for registering
of commercial sites. We will advise you of the cost for registering
for any particular search engine you require.
Stage 7 - Support and Maintenance
We include a small support element within the cost of our sites:·
1 hour worth of changes. This allows small modifications to your
website after publishing. However, if you prefer we can offer more
comprehensive support options. The support options include either
a basic hourly rate invoiced on completion of the work or purchase
of blocks of enahncement time up front. Purchasing up front has
the advantages of fixing your support costs, discount rates and
priority status.
Further details will be supplied during the quotation process.
If you require maintenance of an existing site
please contact us with your requirements.
